On October 20, the Hohhot Emergency Management Bureau released a typical law enforcement case from the crackdown on illegal activities in the trade and manufacturing sector.

During an inspection on August 12, 2026, law enforcement officers found that the motors used in the dust removal zone of an enterprise, a dust explosion hazardous area, failed to

meet dust explosion-proof requirements, constituting a major accident hazard. This hazard falls under Items (3) and (7) of Article 11 of the Criteria for Determining Major Accident

Hazards in Industrial and Trade Enterprises (Order No. 10 of the Ministry of Emergency Management).

In accordance with the Work Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China, the authority ordered the enterprise to suspend operations of the explosion-hazardous area and associated

equipment, and imposed a fine of 200,000 yuan.

The emergency management authority reminds enterprises handling combustible dust to fulfill work safety responsibilities, thoroughly inspect electrical equipment in dust collection

systems, install qualified explosion-proof facilities, and eliminate major risks to prevent dust explosion accidents.
